Product Highlights
The Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R II Digital Camera from Sony packs in a full-frame 42.4-megapixel Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor and BIONZ X processor behind a fixed Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm f/2 lens that grants users the ability to capture finely detailed images in an extraordinarily compact body. This feature allows users to prioritize detail, eliminate moire and aliasing, or strike a balance between the two. In addition to this, the improved processing and speed from the RX1R II’s sensor and processor combo enable capturing images at expanded sensitivities ranging from ISO 50-102400. On the front of the camera is the impressive Zeiss 35mm lens which provides shooters with a classic wide-angle focal length well-suited to street photography and documentary work, an excellent pairing for a compact and unobtrusive camera. The full-frame 42.4-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor present in the DSC-RX1R II works with the BIONZ X image processor to offer high-resolution stills and video while minimizing noise and improving speed. Equipped with a fixed Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm f/2 lens, the RX1R II can deliver sharp imagery with exceptional control over depth-of-field. Eye AF is also available which will prioritize a subject’s pupil for excellent portraits even with a shallow depth of field. In addition to impressive stills, the RX1R II offers some excellent video recording capabilities thanks to the implementation of the XAVC S format in this model.

Not perfect, but probably the best camera you can buy, if you happen to want this: one of the best lenses married to one of the best sensors, shallow DOF, great dynamic range, amazing bokeh and colors, a UI where you can map everything to useful and intuitive buttons and totally focus on taking pictures, silent, useful 35mm for street photography, landscape and indoor, nifty macro, and enough pixels to crop for portraits.

I do a lot of street photography and here’s what I found about this camera:
Pros:
+Literally pocketable (full frame in your pocket!)
+42 megapixels (you can print around 24×36 prints)
+Sonnar lens (sharp and crisp photos)
+WiFi (remote shooting)

Going on two years as my daily driver. Image quality is superb. Form factor took a bit to learn but now is second nature (ditto with menu system). Love the 35mm POV. I can’t imaging a more perfect camera for capturing day to day life. I still aim to own an A7 for more long-reach stuff but for travel, family, and just walk-around, the RX1R II is worth its price.
