The front and rear optical surfaces feature fluorine coatings, which repel water droplets, and the durable lens barrel is also weather-resistant to suit working in inclement conditions.

Another outstanding optic from Nikon! It actually gives me as much reach as my larger telephoto lens, has a smaller aperture, does not seem to slow down the focus rate, and is much lighter to carry. Seems expensive, but on the right lenses it’s like a free lunch of extra magnification. Nice.
