Digital Single-Lens Reflex Cameras or DSLR Cameras are the pioneers of the current generation. As far as the photography and videography sector is concerned, the gadgets are something that defines them like anything.

Just basically figuring out the way a DSLR or a Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera works, firstly, the camera body comprises of a massive mirror-box. This specific mirror-box either contains a bunch of mirrors placed at angles from each other.
Apart from that, some of the DSLR cameras also have a prism which acts as a makeshift mirror as well. The job of this particular prism is to reflect the light coming from the target on to the optical viewfinder.
The first step of the Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera or the DSLR Camera is that the light coming from a specified target enters the camera through the orifice present right with the camera lens.
The entered light then hits the collection of mirrors that form the mirror box. The use of these mirrors is that these will reflect the incoming light on to the optical viewfinder that the user can then see and adjust the settings if necessary.
The optical viewfinder is beneficial since it won’t have any sort of an input lag where the target is shown in a delayed manner or something. Once the button is hit, the mirror moves and the light is then made to fall on the image sensor that is present there.
This sensor will capture and process the image which will then be stored in the allotted storage space given.
End of DSLR Cameras?
It is not really the case of the end of Digital Single-Lens Reflex or DSLR Cameras. However, it certainly is heading in that particular direction. The introduction of mirrorless cameras has kind of made it awkward for the DSLR Cameras.

- Mirrorless Cameras
Digital Cameras are fixed lens ones, hence, those won’t be famous with a lot of professional photographers. They are a decent upgrade from a smartphone photographer if that’s even a thing.
DSLR Cameras are bulky and extremely hard to carry around. This is something that is bothering the photographers for quite a long time. In the same breath, the mirrorless cameras are a fresh upgrade to the DSLR Cameras.
The compactness and the ease of using these cameras have made extreme beginners look like skilled professionals. The introduction of tremendous automated settings has lowered the skill level of using a camera drastically.
